The modern mullet takes the part everyone always kept hidden — the length in the back — and makes it the point. Unlike the 80s version, which was often accidental, the modern cut is architecturally deliberate: the top is textured and set forward, the sides are disconnected or faded, and the back length is shaped into a point or layered so it doesn't fall flat. It's more work to maintain than it looks.

Prep
Wet or damp hair. Section the top and back clearly before starting.
